Geoff Longwood Constructions represents the next generation of Australian builders

Our approach

Geoff Longwood Constructions (GLC) is a WA based construction company. We offer an integrated design and construct approach with new homes, extensions/renovations, heritage restoration work and commercial work.

By working closely with our clients from the initial design phase we are able to make sure the final product delivered is an absolute representation of the client’s aesthetic, lifestyle and financial requirements.

Whilst overseeing the entire GLC operation, Geoff still enjoys the hands on approach with each project. By limiting the number of projects GLC takes on, it allows Geoff enough time to maintain a high level of quality control through his regular site visits and constant communication with his selected trades and suppliers. In turn this allows Geoff to maintain open and transparent communication with the client to keep them updated through out the entire design and construct process. 

Geoff’s journey so far.. 

2020 brings my 21st year in the building industry. I feel lucky to have completed my trade as a carpenter and Joiner in 2002 under the guidance of a small family building company, restoring heritage buildings and homes in and around the Port of Fremantle, Western Australia. In a sliding doors moment an opportunity to live and work in Tropical Far North Queensland was opened and in early 2005 I packed up my ute with only a bag of clothes, my tool belt and my kitesurfing gear and travelled to the shores of the great barrier reef.  

Based in Townsville, Tropical North Queensland, I continued developing my trade skills as a carpenter whilst working on new home and restoration projects. Towards the end of 2007 I took on a supervising role delivering multi storey residential dwellings. During this time in Queensland, I completed my building diploma and builders registration qualifications.

Motivated by the desire to build a reputation for my quality of work backed by good customer relations with my clients I registered the name Geoff Longwood Constructions in early 2009. 5 years on and having  delivered many unique projects, our home state of WA was calling. In mid 2014, my partner Rachael and I arrived back in Perth ready to start the next chapter of GLC. 

Since 2014 Rachael and I have been working to build the GLC brand in WA one project at a time, with the completion of several new homes and renovations. Today I believe I am even more motivated by the desire to build a reputation for my quality of work backed by good customer relations with my clients.

Geoff Longwood Constructions is currently located in Western Australia. We enjoy working on projects in remote and rural settings. We thrive on projects that present logistical challenges. Recently completed and current project locations include:

Structural integrity

One ethos that was instilled in Geoff as an apprentice was to complete every task correctly the first time as this saves both time and money. 

Working previously in the cyclone prone region of North Queensland, Geoff was able to grow his technical understanding and appreciation for the structural integrity of a home in high wind rated areas. Having personally been through cyclone Larry in 2006 and then cyclone Yasi in 2011 Geoff can already say that the projects he has completed, weathered these natural events unscathed.

In relation to his recent and current projects in Perth, Geoff ensures that our trades complete their work well above the minimum requirements set by the Australian Standard and Building Codes. 

Inspired by architecture

Geoff has a huge appreciation and respect for Architecture. He has spent some time in Palm Springs, California and greatly admires the Mid Century Modern architecture that makes Palm Springs a historically significant piece of paradise. Richard Neutra, Donald Wexler and Pierre Koenig are 3 architects who's work Geoff admires the most. GLC takes pride delivering our projects based on the client’s brief rather than what is easiest for the tradesperson to complete.
